    The first question everyone asks is, "What is a SuckleBuster?" It's a long story...

    THE "Sucker-Buster" was born during the early '70's in the imagination of a 10 year old kid growing up in East Texas. One night upon returning from the East Texas State Fair (a revered annual event in my home town of Tyler) Dad asked, Did you ride the "Sucker-Buster"? It was out back…but hey, they only let the BIG kids ride it”, he said with a huge grin. I had no idea what a Sucker-Buster was, or if my Dad was serious but I wanted to find out. I dreamed it was a big, crazy-spinning, wild ride that could scare you right out-of-your-pants. Had I missed the greatest fair ride of all time? I went back next year and checked out back just to make sure Dad was kidding. He was. But the name stuck around...

    Over the years, I experimented with spices and would mix up a little extra seasoning and keep it in the cupboard. Whenever I needed to add a little extra flavor to something, I would use my secret spice recipe, now renamed "SuckleBusters". At some point we began using the name to describe how I cooked, "Man I 'Busted some great steaks last night!" Later, a friend invited us to cater his business grand opening. “What do you call yourself?” he asked. I blurted out, "SuckleBusters". The name stuck and the beginning of a company was born. Little did I know...

    In the early 2000's we became more health conscious and searched for healthier foods. We noticed that all the seasoning we found had; MSG, artificial fillers, dyes, preservatives or ingredients with names you can't pronounce and this was in the healthy foods section! We decided then and there to produce high quality seasonings that taste great and are healthy too! So in 2006 SuckleBusters Inc. was born. 

    SuckleBusters means Bustin' with Flavor. It's the WOW factor when you first taste our products. We use simple recipes with few ingredients to make the best products we can make, each and every time with the best All-Natural ingredients we can find.     About“Mild & Bursting With Flavor”

    Heat level: 4/10

    For those who are still building up their heat tolerances, The Lemon & Garlic Peri-Peri sauce might be for you as it just tips over to the mild side of the scale.

    It is not a typical hot sauce, and is a bit sweeter and milder than the Ghost Per-Peri, but has a similar texture and profile. It is yellow-orange in color and uses a Thai Chili Pepper and other peppers instead of the African Ghost Pepper. This sauce is a crowd favorite and would be gone in the evening if you brought it to a dinner party. Anything with lemon and garlic is always a big hit which is why we offer it in a half-liter bottle too! It’s our co-Founder Artur’s favorite sauce.

    You can do so much with this sauce, we are tempted to just pour it on pasta and call it a day, but for those looking to create a masterpiece, our recipe gurus created some buffalo-style chicken wings that have us licking the plate clean!

    The History of Peri-Peri

    From a flavor perspective, "Peri-Peri" is an extremely hot sauce created with chilli peppers that adds plenty of heat but also an earthiness and a tinge of sweetness.

    A marinade made with garlic, red wine vinegar, paprika, and other European ingredients is thought to have been created by Portuguese explorers in Mozambique in the 15th century after they found the African bird's eye chili pepper. This version of Peri-origin Peri's story is contentious. The spelling "piri-piri" was then adopted by other Portuguese colonies. The word "peri-peri" has Swahili origins. Pepper-pepper is what "Piri-piri" signifies. It comes in a variety of forms, such as "pili-pili" and "peri-peri," but the mouthwatering flavor is the same in each.

    Peri-Peri peppers, like all chilli peppers, are descended from plants native to the Americas, but they have grown naturally in Africa for many years. They are currently grown for sale in Zambia, Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Rwanda. Malawi, Zambia, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Portugal are the primary places where it is grown. It is grown for use in the medicinal and commercial food processing industries. Typically, peri-peri is used to treat mania, anxiety, and schizophrenia.

    These chillies can measure up to 175,000 Scoville heat units depending on the harvest.

    African Dream Cuisine Although Peri-Peri sauces aren't particularly fiery, their distinctive flavor offers an eating experience that is exotic and reminiscent of the dish's lengthy history.

    Peri-Peri goes great with shrimp that has been grilled as well as chicken that has been barbecued or roasted. Roasted cashews spiced with Peri-Peri are a favorite snack in South Africa.
