About the Vendor: Livia, the creator behind Livia’s Seasoning Salt, developed her eponymous blend in her home kitchen in 1938. She gave batches of her famous salt to all who visited and whom she loved.

Who is Livia?

Born in1903, Livia Youngdahl was a lively woman. She managed to raise her younger siblings as well as attend college in Minnesota. She was an avid follower of politics, a weaver, an organist, a cook, and a piano teacher. She married a young professor, and the couple had 3 children and lived in Missouri for 50 years.

But, Livia was especially good at entertaining. Renowned as an excellent cook, Livia’s secret ingredient was a special blend of three essential spices: Kosher salt, coarse-ground black pepper, and just enough garlic to give food a kick without overwhelming its original flavor.

Livia’s generations-old secret recipe was shared with the world in 1997, and we’ve been keeping her memory and recipe alive since her passing.
