Citrus Smoked BBQ Salmon

Directions

1. Marinate the whole salmon filet for at least 1 hour using Lane’s Pineapple Chipotle Sauce.
2. Preheat the smoker or grill to 220 °F using hickory or charcoal.
3. Remove the salmon from the marinade, and season the salmon with Palisade Peach BBQ Rub by The Spice Guy.
4. Slice oranges about 1/2 inch thick and place on a baking sheet, cedar plank, or cast iron griddle pan. Lay the salmon on top of the orange slices.
5. Place on the smoker and cook for 1.5 hours at 220 °F.
6. Baste with Lane’s Pineapple Chipotle Sauce every 30 minutes. Increase temperature to 275 °F and smoke for an additional 20-30 minutes or until salmon reaches 165 °F internal temperature.
7. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
8. Slice into sections and enjoy!
