Ingredients
- The Missing Link Spice Rub by Bow Valley BBQ
- Mrs. Griffin’s Original BBQ Sauce
- 1-2 Whole Chickens
- 1-2 12 oz cans of Light Beer
Directions
- First things first! Let’s dry the skin of your chicken really well. It’s crucial to get the chicken skin as dry as you can. We use paper towels to pat and gently squeeze every single inch of the chicken.
- Rub the chicken skin with The Missing Link Spice Rub by Bow Valley BBQ. Hit every last bit of it over the skin and inside cavity.
- Add the chicken onto the open can so that that chicken is sitting upright with the can in its cavity. Tilt the chicken a bit to the side and sprinkle the chicken with more of The Missing Link Spice Rub by Bow Valley BBQ so it is seasoned evenly.
- Cook the chicken on a smoker or a grill using indirect heat at around 300-325 °F.
- Let your chicken cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature hits 165 °F.
- During the last 15 minutes, baste / mop the chicken with Mrs. Griffin’s Original BBQ Sauce.
- Lift the chicken off the beer can and cut the chicken into pieces, serve with Mrs. Griffin’s Original BBQ Sauce and enjoy!
