Prime Rib with Horseradish Sauce

One of the nicest meals to have with family and friends on any occasion- big prime rib pieces with a dash of horseradish cream sauce! Exceptionally tasty!

For meat, nothing beats horseradish sauce. This quick horseradish sauce recipe is creamy and tasty, and it goes well with any beef meal. With Lane's Original Smoked Finishing Salt, the greatest thing is how fast and easily it comes together!

Horseradish complements heavier cuts of beef, such as a prime rib, by cutting through the deep flavor and imparting a lighter flavor to the meat. It goes well with prime rib and roast beef sandwiches, but it also goes well with steak, beef tenderloin, and even burgers.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2-3 Garlic Cloves ((Slice about 1/2 inch off the top of the cloves or finely dice up the cloves))
  • 2.5 lb. Rib Roast
  • Mayonnaise
  • Lane's Scorpion Rub
  • Lane's Original Smoked Finishing Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Sour Cream
  • 2 Tbsp. Prepared Horseradish
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • Roasted Garlic
  • Shallots
  • Butter ((for searing))

Instructions

  • Let your Rib Roast sit out for 30 to 45 minutes. Bring your Grill up to 250 degrees

  • Light coat of mayonnaise on the rib roast as a binder and then season well with Lane's Scorpion Rub.

  • Grill indirect at 250 for an hour to an hour and a half until the internal temperature is around 120. Remember always cook to internal temperature so it might take more or less time. We used Cherry wood chunks for smoke.

NOTE: You can always do this same method in the oven and then sear using a cast iron on the stovetop

  • Once the rib roast has reached the internal temperature pull and let it sit for 15 minutes with a couple small cubes of butter on top. While it is resting bring your grill up to around 500 degrees. Sear for about 2 minutes per side.

  • Return Rib Roast to grill and sear over direct heat for ~ 2 minutes per side.

  • Let rest 10 to 15 minutes.

  • Slice, sprinkle with Lane's Original Smoked Salt, Drizzle with horseradish sauce, and enjoy.

  • HORSERADISH SAUCE

  • Roast garlic bulbs: Peel and discard outer papery layer from bulbs.

  • Slice about 1/2 inch off the top of the cloves.

  • Drizzle cut layer with olive oil and loosely wrap with aluminum foil and grill or roast in oven for ~20 minutes at 400 °F.

  • Let cool, and dice 2-3 cloves of your roasted garlic bulbs.

  • In a small bowl, mix Worcestershire sauce, 2-3 cloves diced roasted garlic, sour cream, 1 teaspoon Red Dirt Rich Old Pit Dust Rub, and prepared horseradish.

  • Set aside or place in the fridge until ready to serve with Prime Rib. This should be nice and thick - NOT soupy!

Note: Try substitute Lane’s “Sorta White” Sauce if you don't care for the Horseradish sauce!
